ASOS was having a big sale, so I decided to shop for some nice clothes. The style of their clothing ranges from polished and sophisticated to fun and flirty, and to grungy and cool. I wanted to find some staple clothing, such as a nice dress or a nice sweater.
In the end I picked:
- ASOS Knitted Dress with Zip Back in Navy
- Vila Strappy Body Con Mini Dress in a Black and a Cream
- ASOS Jumper with Sketchy Panda
- ASOS LUCY Ballet Flats in Nude
Standard shipping (within 9 days) is free (Free shipping worldwide- International Delivery map), but it can be upgraded to 'express delivery' for $15 to have it shipped within 4 days.
I also found a discount code somewhere so my grand total for my order is $97.12 (without the discount, it would've costed me $108).
They have a wide range of payment methods, which is nice.
It came in a thick garbage bag-like plastic bag |
Top 2 are the bodycon dresses Top right: sketchy panda sweater Bottom left: nude flats Bottom right: knit dress |
I placed my order on April 9th, at night. My package arrived on the morning of the 24th of April. Then the thing I dreaded the most happened: handling fee. I also had to pay and extra $40.10! What?! At that point, I was quite pissed that handling fee costed me an extra 40% of my total. It BETTER be worth it, was all I can think of in my head.
The bodycon dresses didn't fit me well or look right- that was disappointing. (The fabric was super soft too ( / n \ )....)
The flats were too big, and I've picked the smallest size available which should fit me. They came in a little felt-like bag, which I think is quite nice.
[At this point I was frustrated and sad...mostly sad..]
YES! The panda sweater and the knit dress fits~
The sweater is quite big, even though it's suppose to be baggy. There was a petite version of the sweater, but that one was sold out.
Sketchy Panda sweater- ASOS snake print red jeans- Costa Blanca Long blazer- Plenty |
my sequin 'converse' platforms. aren't they awesome!? |
I think the knit dress is very flattering on me. SUPER happy with the knit dress.
ASOS Knitted Dress with Zip Back in Navy |
ASOS Knitted Dress with Zip Back in Navy I think this dress is a nice classic staple |
OVERALL: I don't think I'll ever buy stuff on ASOS, not because of their quality (their quality is very good) but the handling fee just isn't worth it in my opinion.
Note: ASOS also includes a list with your package. The list is for returning items, and they made it easy for customers by listing reasons for the return. All you have to do is match the reason for why you're returning the product, stick the sticker onto your return package (not paid postage) and you're done.

[UPDATE]: postage costed me $35.39 just to return the items... and I only got back $45.43 from refunding the dresses and flats. International shipping is INSANE.
Overall, my total came to $127.38! For just a sweater and a knit dress it is totally NOT worth it. *bummer*
